இந்த வார குங்குமத்தில் என்னுடைய இன்னொரு சிறுகதை ‘பெருங்காயம்’ வந்திருக்கிறது.
Read the story just today (though I bought the book 3 or 4 days back, couldn’t open it !). Seems Desikan has studiously avoided ‘Sujatha’ style lest he will be accused as copy-cat!
There is no clear explanation for the Iyengar from the US trying to buy his grand father’s house. Even the father had not asked for it when he stayed with the son for 2 months prior to death. The family had not visited the place for long. No sentimental attachment is provided. Well, the Muslim neighbour’s question at the end of the story is very straight forward.
Question: The Muslim man and his brother bought the houses in the ‘agraharam’ (I presume – as the hero is an Iyengar). Where were they living earlier?

(I use a desk top and also a lap top. The lap top is provided by Google for use with cloud computing with no softwares loaded in it / no hard disk. I use it for internet browsing. I don’t know how to download and keep the NHM Writer in this for Tamil font. That’s why many of my recent comments are in English! Can you advise? – R. J.)
